Turkey – Croatia, Stay Loyal And Proud, No Matter What

Don't throw your shoes in just yet!

I’m used to read “hard comments” in different sport forums…there has always been and most probably always will be a number of fans who will turn on their own team spitting and humiliating “what they are supposed to love”!

This is nothing new, what is new…is that these comments are now coming pre-match and in a larger number than usual. We’re talking about Vatreni’s most important game for at least a couple of years! Pre-match…a (big) number of our own fans are acting as we already have lost both games and are spitting on their own!!

We have a few players injured, and today I found out Corluka is injured and probably isn’t going to play! This is hard as our defense is probably our “weak spot” …In the comments below the article and on F.B and Google+ I’ve been reading comments such as…The rats are abandoning the boat (and worse)!!

WE HAVEN’T LOST YET…There are two brand new games ahead of us and they are our road to EURO 2012! Yes there have been a lot of negative incidents in Croatian sport lately, Yes Bilic is heavily questioned, Yes we have a number of players injured or out of form…But “A true fan sings louder when things look dark!”

My biggest fear is that “a lot of us…including the players” are having that same feeling as when the Turks scored the equalizer in the final second of the injury time and made the game to be decided by penalties (EURO 2008) There were no need for penalties, you could see it on the players (as well as the fans) faces…we all “knew” it was over!

This is far from over! We are according to the betting companies more likely to be playing Euro 2012 than the Turks (not by much but we’re still favorites) and there is 180 minutes of football ahead of us!

I know most of the “negative comments” are a protecting shield if things turn ugly, basically mentally preparing for a loss as you know how much it hurts! If you’re one of “those” keep it to yourself, don’t infect others and above all...

Stay loyal and proud no matter what!  At the end of the day this is what differs a good supporter from a bad one!
